About this Event
Put all your learning together to sew a zero-waste tote! We’ll be sewing the instructor’s tote bag pattern, The Palengke, which includes an attached pouch/convertible pocket and key ring holder. Ticket purchase includes a take-home copy of the pattern and instructions.
- What you’ll be doing: In this session, you will cut out the tote bag pattern, follow a live construction overview, and independently sew the instructor’s pattern, The Palengke, which includes an attached pouch/convertible pocket and key ring holder.
- Do you need to bring anything? Nope, all materials will be provided! If you have fabric in mind for the tote (or specifically custom-printed nylon), please bring it to sew in class. Solid nylon in limited colors will be included with the class, and other printed ripstop nylon is also available for purchase. If bringing your own fabric, please note: you will need exactly 1 yd of minimum 55” width fabric. The pattern is intended for lightweight nylon so it’s compressible into a small pouch; however, you can use any heavier-weight woven and it will function as a sturdy tote!
- What to expect: Expect a rewarding 2-hour project workshop. You will walk out of the Mood Fabrics Showroom with a completed zero-waste tote bag, plus a copy of the pattern to take home.
Sewing Machine Availability
We have 10 Janome MOD-15 Easy-to-Use Sewing Machines (featuring 15 stitches, adjustable stitch length, and 5-piece feed dogs) available for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer!
Class Registration & Cancellation Policy
