About this Event
Have you purchased a sewing machine, but you’re putting off even getting it out of the box? Did you inherit a sewing machine you want to use, but have no idea where to start? Join us in Sewing for Beginners and we will do our best to help you get to know your machine!
OVERVIEW: Bring your sewing machine and our instructors will help you along the way. We will: - Learn the parts of a sewing machine. - Discover differences in machines. - Most common issues and how to fix them.
OBJECTIVES: Get to know your machine by making mistakes and using it! We will be standing by for help, but we prefer you do most things yourself so you can develop the skill to bring home and use again. Come away from this workshop with the confidence to make mistakes at home, be able to solve and work through them, and make things on your own.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Scrap material
-Thread
-Extra bobbins that come with your machine
-Scissors
-Notetaking materials
-Bring your sewing machine or let us know ahead of time if you don’t have one yet.
-We will bring plenty of extra material and thread to practice!
