Seward Park Sunset Walk & Picnic - Seattle
“Bring a blanket, not an agenda.”
Seward Park Sunset Walk & Picnic is a simple summer evening built around being outside together.
No stage.
No presentation.
No amplified music.
No formal networking program.
Come for a guided walk around part or all of Seward Park, stay for a picnic at Shelter #2, join a lawn game if you want, or simply sit near the lake and talk.
The event is designed to be flexible.
You may arrive at 6:30 PM for the first walk.
You may come later and head directly to the picnic.
You may stay for twenty minutes or for the full evening.
There is no requirement to complete every activity.
HOW THE EVENING WORKS
The event has three simple parts:
WALK
Choose a short walk, a longer loop, or skip the walk.
PICNIC
Return to Shelter #2 with your own food and blanket.
OPEN ACTIVITY
Join a light lawn game, try the nature scavenger hunt with your family, visit a community information table, or simply relax.
WALK OPTIONS
SHORT WALK
Approximately 20–25 minutes.
Designed for guests who prefer a shorter route, families with younger children, and anyone who wants more time at the picnic area.
The group remains on established park paths.
FULL LOOP
Approximately 45–55 minutes at a social walking pace.
The route follows established pathways around Seward Park and may use the approximately 2.4-mile shoreline loop.
This is not a race or fitness class.
Pace may vary.
NO WALK
Walking is optional.
You are welcome to remain at Shelter #2 and join the picnic portion only.
EVENT SCHEDULE
6:30 PM – 6:45 PM Arrival & Walk Check-In
Choose your preferred walk group or head directly to the picnic area.
6:45 PM Short Walk & Full Loop Depart
Walk leaders review the route and basic park etiquette before leaving.
7:10 PM onward Short Walk Returns / Picnic Opens
Guests may settle at Shelter #2, spread out on blankets where permitted, and begin the picnic portion.
Approximately 7:35–7:45 PM Full Loop Returns
Timing depends on group pace and park conditions.
7:15 PM – 8:20 PM Picnic, Lawn Activities & Community Connection
Drop in or move between activities at your own pace.
8:20 PM – 8:30 PM Pack-Up & Closing
Please help leave the shelter and surrounding area clean.
