About this Event
In this three-hour beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create their own Spirea Tote using Mood's free sewing pattern (the handle-free version). We'll work through the basic construction process together, including preparing the pattern and fabric, assembling the exterior and lining, sewing and finishing the bag, and adding individual embellishments.
Materials & Fabrics Used in Class:
- Exterior Fabric: Orange and Fuchsia Ikat Striped Cotton Canvas
- Lining Fabric: Carrot Polyester and Cotton Poplin
- Thread: Gutermann Sew All Thread 100m - 470 Orange
- Needles: Dritz Hand Needle Compact - Assorted Sizes - 30 ct
The workshop focuses on completing the project while building sewing-machine confidence and reinforcing foundational sewing skills. Once the bags are constructed, participants can personalize them with buttons, brooches, appliqués, patches, charms, jewels, and other embellishments. Students may also bring a special embellishment of their own!
