This fall, AfroTennis Club is bringing our community together for the second annual **Thanksgiving Community Initiative** — a month-long effort centered around service, community, and making a meaningful impact during the holiday season. The initiative begins with a **community food drive from October 1 through November 7**, where AfroTennis Club members, community partners, local organizations, and supporters will collect approved food and household items to help create Thanksgiving kits for families across the Washington, D.C. area.
**Donation drop-off locations and additional food drive details can be found below.**
Once the month-long drive concludes, we’ll bring everything together for our **Thanksgiving Packing Party on November 14**.
The Packing Party is where the community comes together to sort donations, assemble Thanksgiving kits, and prepare them for distribution to local families in time for the holiday. Last year, our community helped create more than 88 Thanksgiving kits, and this year we’re working to expand that impact and serve even more families.
This is more than a volunteer event — it’s a chance to connect, give back, and celebrate community together.
