Sergei Putinski has become a global cult comedy sensation — a larger-than-life character loved by millions online and now coming to Vancouver for a limited live run.
Putinski is Russia's only living comedian. (He says so himself.)
With his beat-up Maserati, oversized brick phone, questionable history, and absolute devotion to 1980s American sitcoms, Sergei attempts to make sense of a modern world that has clearly moved on without him. Expect outrageous stories, absurd observations, and a completely unforgettable comedy character unlike anything else in stand-up.
**WHO IS SERGEI PUTINSKI?**
Born beneath the Kremlin and rumoured to be Vladimir Putin's nephew, Sergei Putinski is a man who has seen things you wouldn't believe — mostly because they happened in 1987 and are no longer relevant.
A devoted student of 80s American television, Sergei believes the mobile phone peaked with the brick, civilization was better before Wi-Fi, and the only reliable way to solve problems is yelling into a giant white cell phone while driving a questionable Maserati.
What started as a throwaway side character became an international comedy phenomenon:
"Kind of wild when the side character is bigger than you."
Whether you already know Sergei or you're discovering him for the first time, this is a live comedy show you won't forget. Vancouver — meet the man, the myth, the questionable Russian legend. He is Russia's only living comedian. Draw your own conclusions.
