A Dutch Approach- Creating Ensemble Driven Devised Work. Drawing from the Dutch theatre company Orkater's practices, guest artist Cory Lawson will lead this workshop exploring a European model of devising that decentralizes text, treating dialogue as just one theatrical element alongside music, movement, lighting, and sound. Working as an ensemble, participants will build upon one another’s ideas and imaginations, transforming the mundane into something extraordinary and creating an original piece together.
theatre KAPOW hosts open trainings in acting, movement, improvisation, voice, speech, object work, suzuki, viewpoints, and more. Company members have trained with Double Edge Theatre Company, Tectonic Theater Project, La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, the Michael Chekhov Studio, Shakespeare & Company, The Atlantic Acting School and SITI Company, and draw on these techniques and methods for their work.
Training is open to everyone 16 and older, with any level of experience, or none! Participants should come comfortably dressed to move (no jeans).
