Session 6: Standards and Street Trees
The Details
Join us for the sixh Green Skills session being held at Stretford Meadows as part of our Seeds of Change programme, where you will learn a range of green skills, from seed, to tree, to woodland. You do not need to have attended the previous session to come along.
This session will spotlight the importance of street trees and standards. Meet our Urban Tree Officer at City of Trees, Grace, who will be speaking all about her journey into the environmental sector, and what her job entails. We will be carrying out a standard tree health and condition survey, followed by practical tree maintenance tasks. All tools and training will be provided.
This session is for young people aged 16-25, looking to learn new skills, gain experience in the environment sector or just to try something new! If you have any questions or would like any more information, contact Nina at [email protected].

- The nearest Metrolink stop is Old Trafford, which is a 15 minute walk from the meeting point.
- Bus 263 operates between Oxford Road Station and Davyhulme Road East bus stop, which is a 20 minute walk from the meeting point, and bus 15 operates between Oxford Road Station and Greatstone Road bus stop which is a 10 minute walk from the meeting point.
About the site
Longford Park s is a public site with woods and meadows. The area where we will be working sometimes has uneven ground, thick vegetation, and informal paths.. A portaloo will be available on site for participant use.
