About this Event
In this Intro to Coffee Origins lab, we will take a broad look at global coffee trade. We will discuss coffee agronomy, varieties, and basic processing techniques. This class will teach you where coffee comes from and familiarize you with every hand coffee touches before it reaches our shops. We will also sample coffees from various origins and discuss common flavor profiles.
We will also help you begin to develop your palate and coffee vocabulary, which will help you describe and diagnose flavor characteristics that indicate whether a brew is on or off the mark. This class will equip you with the fundamental skills to learn important aspects of coffee and how that changes the brewing process.
