BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice: Maximising Marks at Level 2

Maximising Marks — 2 hours 30 minutes
Following a brief refresher on Components 1 and 2, the majority of this session will focus on helping learners move beyond Level 2 Pass towards Merit and Distinction in Component 3.
Using assessment criteria and examples of stronger learner work, we will explore what examiners are looking for in both the written and practical tasks, what distinguishes responses in the higher mark bands, and common barriers to achievement.
The session will consider performing, creating and producing, with practical teaching strategies to help learners develop their musical skills and explain and evaluate their creative decisions effectively. There will be scope to respond to participants’ priorities throughout.
Help shape the session: Questions can be submitted in advance, alongside anonymised examples of learner work that you are happy for me to use during the training. Submitted work will be used only for this session and securely deleted afterwards.
