About this Event
The 2nd Annual Celebrating Black Deaf Excellence (CBDE) will be a powerful celebration of culture, community, and possibility within the Deaf community—honoring Deaf individuals across intersecting identities, lived experiences, and abilities.
This year’s CBDE centers empowerment, education, and access. Through music, performance, storytelling, and shared space, the event will uplift excellence while reinforcing a collective truth: when barriers are removed and opportunities are expanded, our community thrives. CBDE is intentionally designed to inform, inspire, and affirm that Deaf voices, talents, and leadership matter.
More than an event, CBDE is a space for connection and growth—where legacy meets the next generation, knowledge fuels opportunity, and vision turns into action. We are gathering to celebrate who we are, honor where we’ve been, and boldly step into what’s possible when access and equity lead the way.
