Experience an evening of powerful orchestral storytelling—from storm-tossed seas to the Georgia coast, and onward to a triumphant finale.⚓ Richard Wagner | Flying Dutchman Overture
The journey begins at sea. Inspired by Wagner’s own harrowing ocean voyage, this dramatic overture brings a legendary ghost ship to life with turbulent strings and thunderous brass.
🌴 Elizabeth Kelly | Coastal Concerto — World Premiere
Be among the first to hear a new work inspired by our coast and its communities. Drawing inspiration from her travels along the Georgia coastline and conversations with local environmentalists and African American and Gullah Geechee musicians, Kelly brings the program close to home. Her connection to this community also includes teaching composition to Glynn County schoolchildren in partnership with the orchestra.
✨ Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky | Symphony No. 5
From its hushed, ominous opening to its blazing finale, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth traces a stirring journey from uncertainty to triumph—a powerful conclusion to an evening of discovery.
Three works. One unforgettable journey.
A storm survived. A homecoming realized. A fate rewritten.
Join us for an evening celebrating the power of music to carry us through—and bring us home.
