About this Event
The Limits of Forgiveness follows survivor and activist Marlee Liss in her choice to pursue a restorative justice sentencing for her sexual assault case.
In Ontario, Crown Policy D.4 has denied survivors of sexual assault the choice to divert their cases from a criminal trial to a restorative justice process for over 30 years.
Grounded in Marleeās unprecedented legal journey, this film weaves together expert voices, survivor stories, and the realities of a court system where the vast majority of sexual assault cases never reach trial.
The screening will be followed by an audience Q&A.
Content warning: This film addresses themes of gender-based violence and sexual assault.
