About this Event
The Asian American Education Project (AAEdu) is hosting a series of FREE K-12 educator events throughout Fall 2026 to deepen knowledge of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and cross-racial histories and experiences!
At this event, participants will engage in a screening of Slumlord Millionaire, a documentary about the housing crisis in New York City. The film follows a group of fearless residents, activists, and nonprofit attorneys fighting corrupt landlords and developers for the basic human right to a home. Following the screening, participants will have a Q&A with filmmakers Steph Ching and Ellen Martinez, and some planning time. Lunch will be provided.
Attendees must be educators teaching in New York City schools. Educators are eligible to receive CTLE credit.
NYC AAPI Studies K-12 provides free curricular resources and professional development to support integration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) history, identity, and civic belonging in NYC Public Schools.
