Scotland's Flood Resilience Conference 2026

Scotland’s Annual Flood Resilience Conference will be held at Dynamic Earth on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 January 2026. The conference will review progress and identify further actions needed for implementing Scotland’s Flood Resilience Strategy.

Day one will focus on Place (coastal, land use and place-based approaches) and Day 2 will focus on People and community engagement. We will include a focus on social and technical innovation and collaborative working and will look to identify next steps for action.

The conference will include plenary presentations, breakout sessions, panel discussions and Q&As providing opportunities to learn, network and get involved.

A draft programme for the Conference will become available on Verture’s website. The final programme will be available in December 2025.

Who should attend?

Creating a flood resilient Scotland requires close collaboration between policy makers, flood practitioners, third sector, communities and all of those involved in managing and designing Scotland’s places and the infrastructure and land upon which we rely. Delegates from local councils, developers, government agencies, consultancies, NGOs, researchers, and communities are warmly encouraged to attend.

Tickets

The conference is often oversubscribed, so please register quickly to avoid disappointment. Ticket sales close on 15 December 2025. We want to make sure the diverse voices of the Flood Resilience community are represented, so we kindly ask you to try to limit the number of in-person delegates per organisation to 4 or less.

Online delegates

Attendance online is free. Presentations and the plenary sessions will be live streamed; however, not all workshop sessions and breakouts will be available as hybrid. These will be highlighted in the final programme.

In person delegates

There is a modest fee to attend the conference to help offset rising catering and hosting costs. Please note that those chairing and speaking at the event will receive a concessionary ticket. A limited number of free tickets are available for individuals at an early stage in their career, community representatives or from third sector organisations for whom cost could be a barrier to attendance.

Networking reception and buffet

A networking reception hosted by our Platinum Sponsors, Flood Re, is being held at Dynamic Earth on the evening of Tuesday 27 January 2026 immediately after the main conference session. Drinks and refreshments will be available, and included in the standard two-day ticket price, but not in one-day or concessionary ticket prices.

Terms and Conditions:

· If you have not registered, we will not be able to admit you to the conference.

· Switching delegates is permitted but please inform Verture of any changes by 9 January 2026. We know that last minute changes to attendance are sometimes unavoidable and we will try our best to switch delegates with shorter notice than this, but please note that catering options, badges and programmes will not be able to be amended after this date.

· Please note it is essential to provide details for each individual attendee. Please take care to enter names as you would like them to appear on your name badge.

· The conference is oversubscribed every year and has a waiting list. Verture reserves the right to limit the number of tickets available to any individual organisation, to allow others the opportunity to attend.

· GDPR – a delegate list will be provided to in person attendees. By registering for the conference, you are agreeing to be included in the delegate list. If you wish to be removed, please email [email protected]

· The event will be photographed – there is an option to opt out of being included in photographs when registering.
