School’s Out, Art’s In! 🎨 Clay Classes for StudentsLooking for a creative way to spend those school holidays? We schedule our special youth clay classes to align with local school days off and breaks. It’s the perfect opportunity for students to get their hands dirty and let their creativity shine while they are away from the classroom.
The Creative Process Each session is a new adventure! Students learn the fundamentals of working with clay, including how to properly use and care for professional tools. We guide them through the entire journey—from shaping and molding raw clay to adding intricate details. Every project is a two-part process:
The Build: Sculpting the masterpiece.
The Glaze: Returning for a second session to add color before the final kiln firing.
Age Guidelines & Expectations:
Our classes are primarily designed for ages 8 and up. However, we allow students under the age of 8 at the parent’s discretion, provided you feel your child is mature enough to:
Sit for the full duration of the class.
Participate appropriately with the project.
Remain respectful of their peers and the studio environment. (We ask that all students, regardless of age, show respect for their fellow artists and our shared workspace.)
A Note on Our Younger Artists (Under 10)
To ensure a wonderful and safe experience for everyone, we have specific guidelines for our youngest creators:
Parental Participation: For artists under the age of 10, we require a parent or guardian to sit with the child during the class. This allows you to share in the creative process and provide a little extra help when needed!
Safety First: Our studio is a working art space with tools that can be sharp or heavy. To keep everyone safe, we ask that children stay seated and avoid running in the studio.
A Focused Environment: Having a guardian present ensures our younger students stay on track and use tools appropriately, helping our small staff maintain a safe and relaxing atmosphere for all.
Responsibility & Pride We believe in teaching the "whole artist." Our classes emphasize responsibility, showing students how to clean their workspace and take pride in maintaining a professional studio environment.
