Give your dog a job they were born to love.Dogs experience the world through their nose, and scent training gives them a fun, confidence-building way to use that natural ability. In this 4-week beginner class, your dog will learn how to search, problem-solve, stay engaged, and begin communicating when they find the target.
This class starts with simple food searches to build confidence and motivation. From there, dogs are gradually introduced to structured searches, odor pairing, and common dog scent training odors.
Your Dog Will Learn
• How to use their nose to search
• How to start calmly before each search
• How to work independently without being over-guided
• How to search containers and simple hide locations
• How to build confidence through problem-solving
• How to begin developing clear indication behavior
• How to work through beginner scent training foundations step by step
Class Details
• 4-week class
• 1-hour sessions
• $150
• Limited to 6 dogs and handlers
• Held at Phoenix West Valley park locations
• Dogs must be over 6 months old
• Vaccines required: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella
• Force-free, positive reinforcement training
No prior scent training experience is needed.
Important Class Note
This class is best for dogs who can safely work around other dogs and people in a group class setting.
Dogs with human aggression or dog aggression are not appropriate for this class.
Reactive dogs may be approved by the trainer on a case-by-case basis before registration.
