Grab your best friend, your favorite coffee order, and your love of all things Gilmore Girls and join Alison of and Kelsey of for a very special Scent & Script: Gilmore Girls Edition.
Settle in at the newly opened — and incredibly cozy — Moments Collected in Mason for an evening of fragrance, handlettering and a few fun nods to the world of Lorelai, Rory and Stars Hollow.
Your ticket includes two creative workshops in one evening: a personalized perfume-making experience and a modern handlettering workshop. All supplies and instruction are included, so just bring yourself (and perhaps an unhealthy enthusiasm for coffee).
The Perfume Workshop
Alison Peters, founder and owner of The Lavender Sachet, will introduce you to the art of blending fragrance and help you create a perfume that is completely your own.
Choose from a curated selection of fragrance notes — think lavender, grapefruit, sandalwood, jasmine, vanilla and more — and experiment with different combinations to create your signature scent.
And because every Gilmore Girl has a scent story, you’ll also get a little inspiration from some of Stars Hollow’s most memorable characters. Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Sookie and Paris each have a fragrance personality waiting to be discovered. We’ll be discussing what cologne Dean, Jess, Logan and Luke would wear too.
You’ll blend one 10mL personalized perfume, complete with custom labels, to take home.
The Lettering Workshop
Kelsey of Kelsey Haver Designs & Daisy will lead you through an introduction to modern handlettering — with a very special Gilmore Girls twist.
Your personalized workbook will be filled with fun words, phrases and quotes inspired by the show (“Oy with the poodles already!”), giving you plenty of opportunities to practice your lettering while channeling your inner Lorelai or Rory.
No prior lettering experience is needed. Kelsey will be on hand throughout the workshop to answer questions, demonstrate techniques and help you find your lettering style. Cardstock will also be provided for you to handletter your favorite Gilmore Girls quote on a bookmark that even the biggest bookworm, Rory, would approve of.
Think of it as your own little Stars Hollow stationery shop — minus Taylor Doose.
A Few Things to Know
No experience necessary: Both workshops are designed with beginners in mind.
Age requirement: Participants must be 8 years or older.
Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
All supplies included: Just show up ready to create, sip something cozy, and have a little fun.
Ticket price: Typically $150 per person, but this special two-in-one experience is available for $75.
