About this Event
🎭 SCENE GYM: A Social Acting Lab for Performers
You don't have to be auditioning to be an actor. You just have to keep the muscle alive.
Life happens. Roles come and go. Schedules get packed. Sometimes months—or even years—pass between performances.
But that doesn't mean you've stopped being a performer.
Scene Gym is a low-pressure, social acting lab created for actors and performance artists who want a place to play, practice, experiment, and reconnect with their craft without the commitment or pressure of a traditional acting class.
Think of it like a gym for your performance muscles.
Each session gives you an opportunity to work through a variety of acting and performance exercises, including:
🎭 Scene work & character exploration
🎲 Improv & performance games
🎤 Voice & physical expression
📝 Acting prompts & creative challenges
🤝 Partner and group exercises
✨ Space to experiment with your own material
You might come with a scene you're preparing for. You might bring a monologue you've been meaning to work on. You might be completely unprepared and just want to jump into an exercise.
All of that is welcome.
Scene Gym is for you if you…
- Have strayed from acting and want to get back into practice
- Don't have the time or desire to commit to a full acting class
- Have a role, monologue, scene, or audition you're working on
- Want to practice without the pressure of being evaluated
- Miss playing and creating with other performers
- Are an actor, poet, spoken-word artist, comedian, storyteller, or other performance artist
- Simply want to keep your creative and performance muscles from getting rusty
There are no auditions. No grades. No pressure to be perfect.
You don't have to prove that you're an actor.
Just come ready to engage.
🎬 FACILITATED BY BONNIE (Anahata) PETTIFORD
Bonnie Pettiford is an actor, creative development facilitator, producer, and founder of Talent Alchemy, a creative development & media company.
With a background in acting, improv, performance, creative production, and artist development, Bonnie creates spaces where performers can move beyond simply performing correctly and instead explore presence, play, choice, imagination, emotional access, and creative freedom.
Her approach combines her experience as a performer and producer with her work developing practical creative practices for artists—helping performers reconnect with their instincts, take creative risks, and stay engaged with their craft.
Scene Gym is an extension of that philosophy:
You don't always need another class.
Sometimes you just need a place to play.
COME WORK THE MUSCLE. 🎭
Whether you're getting back into acting, preparing for your next role, or simply refusing to let your performer self collect dust—
pull up to Scene Gym.
Practice. Play. Experiment. Repeat.
No pressure. Just performance.
