What: A fun, friendly competition for merchants, neighbors and creative friends, inspired to construct Scarecrows to win a $50 prize in eight totally fun categories:Scary, Creative, Funky, Historic, Diverse, Cultural, Dapper, Silly
Kickoff: Friday, October 2,5pm, 299 E C-Street, Commercial Club as decorated "Scarecrow Selfie Spot" opens for fun photos!

Popping up all month long, they must be in place by October 23 to be eligible for prizes.
In a whimsical effort to attract crows to C-Street, Commercial Club of Springfield invites friends of C-Street and community members to create their very own Scarecrow, or partner with a merchant or resident of C-Street, or secure their very own spot by contacting [email protected]! Community Scarecrows will join Scarecrows presented by the creative merchants of Historic C-Street for a month-long display all along our 6-block Local & Federal Register Historic District.
A secret group of independent judges will evaluate the sculptures by cruising the district throughout the month of October. Judges’ votes will be tallied on Halloween. Through their votes, a winner will be selected in each of the eight categories mentioned above.
Naturally, we encourage our judges to be swayed by cute selfies taken by all our visitors at their favorite Scarecrows throughout the month. If you have a favorite, please post a cute pic/selfie on Historic C-Street Facebook page and support your choice for our secret judges to see!
Winners will be notified and posted on Historic C-Street Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded at a C-Street function, date to be announced.
