An evening with Terry Szuplat, Obama’s former speechwriter
About this Event

What does it take to craft words that move people?

On March 26, 2026, Terry Szuplat – former speechwriter to President Barack Obama – comes to London for a rare in-person event.

In this 90-minute session, you’ll hear behind-the-scenes stories from Terry’s eight years at the White House and learn practical lessons from his bestselling book Say It Well. You’ll discover how the world’s most influential leaders shape their message, build trust and speak with purpose.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from someone who helped shape more than 500 presidential speeches – and to ask your own questions during a live audience Q&A.

Arrive from 5:30pm and stay after the session for optional networking and conversation with other attendees.

What you’ll learn

  • How to sharpen your message

Learn how to distil your idea into a clear, memorable line people repeat and remember.

  • Why preparation shapes performance

Hear why the work you do before you speak matters more than what happens on stage.

  • How to move an audience

Understand why stories, clarity and intent help people care about your message.

Ideal for

Ideal for business owners, leaders and professionals who want to communicate with more impact – and meet others who share the same goal.
