The Say a poem team show you how to bring the joy of spoken poetry into everyday classroom life. This training is recommended for Headteachers, literacy leads, nursery to Year 3 teachers - in all schools.

What is Say a poem?

Our poems:

• are rich in language to build children’s vocabulary
• are playful to say to develop oracy
• support development of early language.

Each of our 80+ poems are brought to life in an engaging five-minute film which encourages participation and speaking aloud. Each film makes children feel ‘I can do it!’

What will I learn?

By the end of the day, you will know how to:

• develop clear, confident speech
• help children remember new vocabulary
• sharpen children’s attention
• show how meaning and intention affect tone and intonation
• boost confidence and self‐expression
• help children articulate their feelings
• create safety, connection and class identity.
