The Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW) holds an OPEN MIC on the first Tuesday of the month at the wonderful NEW DEAL CAFE. Lynn Hollyfield, Singer-Songwriter hosts. Sign-ups at 6PM-put your name in a hat and you'll be called for a 2 song/10 minute time slot (whichever is less). OM runs 6:30-9:30. HEATHER AUBREY LLOYD is our Featured Songwriter and will perform 8-8:30. Artist donations are collected for the Featured Artist. Join us, have a meal at the cafe and sign up/come to listen. In the DMV, she’s a Grand Prize Winner of the prestigious Bernard Ebb Award, the “Girlfunkel” in a wildly successful Simon & Garfunkel tribute, and even singing for Renaissance lute-rock rebels, Ayreheart, featuring Grammy-nominated Ronn McFarlane. Lloyd just released the “ambitious and unflinching” Panic Room With A View, “an alt-folk symphony, layering acoustic beauty with humor and hope,” says Amplify The Noise and MusicnGear. Expect a live performance that “sits with fear, grief, and even absurdity until they yield not just resolution, but transformation.”
