Experts are saying the Maugean skate is one extreme weather event away from extinction.
With the current El Niño predicted to be the worst in recorded history - this extreme weather event is already here.
The fate of the skate is balancing on a knife's edge.
Parralaongatek/Macquarie Harbour is its last home on Earth, but industrial scale fish farming is pushing this ancient species to extinction.
So, what can we do about it? How are we going to save the skate?
Join Greens Senator Vanessa Bleyer and an expert panel at St John Craft Beer for politics in the pub. Together we can unite to give the Maugean skate a fighting chance!
Our amazing panellists are:
Senator Vanessa Bleyer - Greens Senator for Lutruwita/Tasmania.
James Overington - Environment Tasmania CEO.
Peregrine Taylor - Committee member of NWTas for Clean Oceans.
Charlene McLennan - MC and family law lawyer committed to advocating for justice.
So, come along, share a drink and a meal, and let's organise to Save the Skate!
