About this Event
Join us for a Pilates + Yoga Fusion teacher training lab focused on floor work. Together, we explore how the controlled movement of Pilates and the mindful practices of yoga can come together in a thoughtfully sequenced mat class. This is a space to deepen your own practice while developing the skills to guide others with clarity and confidence.
Our floor work brings attention to core support, breath coordination, spinal movement, and the relationship between stability and mobility. Through seated, reclined, side-lying, and hands-and-knees positions, we explore how small changes in placement, pacing, and range of motion can shape the experience of an exercise or posture. You will have time to notice what you feel, ask questions, and consider how to translate that understanding into useful teaching cues.
As we move between Pilates exercises and yoga postures, we look at what connects the two practices while respecting their distinct approaches. We explore how to build a sequence that feels cohesive, with purposeful transitions, a manageable pace, and room for both effort and rest. The emphasis is on understanding why a movement belongs in a class and how it prepares students for what follows.
For teachers and trainees, the lab offers opportunities to practice explaining movements, observing participants, and offering options. We consider how props, changes in position, and adjustments to range of motion can help accommodate different needs. You will work on choosing language that is clear and encouraging while leaving space for students to make decisions about their own practice.
Anatomy becomes part of the conversation as we connect what we study with what we experience on the mat. Rather than memorizing cues without context, we explore their purpose and consider when a different instruction might be more useful. These discussions help you develop a more thoughtful approach to alignment, breath, and movement.
Bring your questions and your curiosity as we learn through guided practice, discussion, and teaching opportunities. Whether you are developing your teaching voice or expanding an established approach, Tuesday lab offers space to explore Pilates + Yoga Fusion floor work and build practical skills you can carry into your classes.
