Saturday Afternoon with Author Michelle Herman

Michelle's first novel for kids is the story of Charlotte’s new and unexpected friendship with her elderly neighbor, Maud—and Maud’s dog, Murry—which rescue her from a gloomy summer.

Michelle is the author of three memoirs and essay collections, The Middle of Everything, Stories We Tell Ourselves, and Like A Song, as well as four novels (Missing, Dog, Devotion and Close-Up). She wrote the novella collection, A New and Glorious Life, and an advice book for children, A Kid’s Guide to Life. Her essays and short fiction have appeared in The Sun, American Scholar, O, the Oprah Magazine, Ploughshares, Conjunctions, and many other journals.
