About this Event

SAT Reading & Writing Bootcamp
Make Reading More Logical. Make Difficult Questions More Manageable.

SAT Reading can feel subjective, especially when students are faced with dense passages, unfamiliar vocabulary, or two answer choices that both seem reasonable.

At MethodK, we approach Reading & Writing differently. We teach students to break down the underlying logic of a question, recognize relationships between ideas, and use structured reasoning to find an answer they can justify.

This two-day, in-person intensive introduces students to MethodK's research-informed and continuously refined SAT methodology, with guided instruction, targeted practice, and original learning resources.

Rather than rushing through every SAT topic, we'll focus on learning how to approach challenging questions more effectively.

What We'll Focus On

1. Finding the Logic in Dense Text

Learn to break challenging passages into manageable information, identify relationships between ideas, and distinguish what a passage actually supports from what an answer choice merely suggests.

2. Building a More Systematic Approach to Grammar & Expression

Learn to recognize the structure of a sentence, identify what a grammar question is testing, and apply a logical sequence of decisions rather than relying on what simply sounds right.

3. Recognizing Question Patterns & Applying the Right Strategy

Learn to identify question types, locate relevant evidence, eliminate unsupported answers, and approach unfamiliar questions using repeatable methods.

Instruction will draw from relevant SAT Reading & Writing topics, including inference, evidence, text structure, grammar, and transitions.

The MethodK Experience

First Access to Original Learning Resources

Students will receive first access to selected proprietary MethodK strategy guides, worksheets, and instructional tools, along with curated resources to support independent practice.

These materials are designed to help students recognize question structures, make stronger decisions, and continue applying what they've learned beyond the bootcamp.

Day Two: Independent Application Assessment

Students will complete a short, targeted assessment to demonstrate how independently they can apply the methods introduced during instruction.

An Individualized SAT Study Plan

Assessment results and instructional observations will help students identify their strengths, priority areas for improvement, and recommended next steps leading into the December SAT or a future test date.

The assessment is not a full-length SAT or an official score prediction.

Who Should Attend?

High school students preparing for the SAT who struggle with dense reading, confusing answer choices, grammar decisions, or applying familiar strategies to unfamiliar questions.

Students who already understand many SAT concepts but want a more structured approach to using them may also benefit.

Prior SAT or PSAT scores are helpful but not required.
