About this Event
SAT Math Bootcamp
Find the Math Hidden in the Question.
Sometimes the most challenging part of SAT Math isn't the calculation. It's understanding what the question is asking, recognizing which mathematical concepts apply, and figuring out where to begin.
At MethodK, we teach students to approach SAT Math through comprehension, translation, and strategic decision-making.
Our two-day, in-person Math Intensive introduces students to MethodK's research-informed and continuously refined SAT methodology, helping them turn complicated questions into recognizable mathematical structures and actionable solving steps.
Instead of trying to review every formula and topic, we'll focus on the reasoning and application skills that make challenging SAT questions more approachable.
What We'll Focus On
1. Reading & Translating SAT Math Questions
Learn to identify what a question is asking, separate essential information from distracting details, and translate written relationships into equations, expressions, diagrams, and other mathematical representations.
2. Recognizing Mathematical Structures & Entry Points
Learn to identify the concepts behind a problem, connect unfamiliar wording to familiar mathematics, and recognize clues that point toward an effective starting strategy.
3. Choosing a Solving Method Without Decision Fatigue
Learn when to use algebra, graphs, numerical reasoning, or Desmos—and how to make that choice efficiently instead of repeatedly starting over.
Instruction will use selected SAT Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving, and Geometry questions to develop these transferable skills.
The MethodK Experience
First Access to Original Learning Resources
Students receive first access to selected proprietary MethodK strategy guides, math translation worksheets, problem-solving references, and instructional tools.
They'll also receive curated practice resources designed to support continued skill development after the intensive.
Day Two: Independent Application Assessment
Students will complete a short, targeted assessment focused on recognizing question structures, translating information, selecting methods, and independently applying the strategies introduced during instruction.
An Individualized SAT Study Plan
Assessment results and instructional observations will help identify each student's strengths, priority areas for improvement, and recommended next steps for the December SAT or a future test.
The assessment is not a full-length SAT or an official score prediction.
Who Should Attend?
High school students preparing for the SAT who understand some of the underlying mathematics but struggle to recognize how to apply it to word problems, unfamiliar question formats, or multi-step problems.
The intensive may also help students who spend too much time deciding how to solve a problem, frequently abandon promising approaches, or want to use Desmos more strategically.
Students should have prior exposure to Algebra I. A previous SAT or PSAT score is not required.
