Join us for two relaxed hours of Sashiko, where you’ll get to try simple, beginner-friendly patterns and learn more about this traditional Japanese stitching technique. We’ll provide everything you need, along with music and a relaxed atmosphere where you can slow down, stitch and enjoy the moment.
We’ll start by introducing the idea behind Sashiko, its history and tradition, and some of the basic tools and techniques. Then, of course, we’ll sew! You’ll get to try a few simple traditional patterns and become familiar with the movement and rhythm of the stitches.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about taking your time, trying something new and enjoying the process.
You can also explore our small Sashiko exhibition, featuring more about the history and tradition behind this beautiful Japanese stitching technique.
Low threshold, relaxed pace, and no previous experience needed. Just come by and enjoy two hours of stitching, learning and good company.
The workshop will be held in English.
