This versatile traditional Japanese stitching and embroidery technique was primarily used to mend, reinforce, and embellish garments.
In this class, you will learn the history of Sashiko, how to select and handle materials, try its basic running stitches, learn some traditional patterns and their meanings.
We will also practice visible mending using this practical yet decorative stitching technique that embodies sustainability, community, and simplicity.
All materials provided. This hands-on workshop welcomes artists of all levels.
