The Sarawak International Tattoo and Cultural Festival is a flagship cultural event aimed at celebrating, preserving and promoting traditional tattoo art as an important element of indigenous heritage, while fostering international cultural exchange.The programme brings together local and international tattoo artists, cultural practitioners and creative industry players to showcase traditional and contemporary tattoo practices through exhibitions, live demonstrations, cultural performances and interactive sessions. Special emphasis is placed on indigenous tattoo traditions of Sarawak and Borneo as part of ongoing cultural preservation efforts.
In addition, the festival features a cultural exhibition highlighting Sarawak’s diverse ethnic heritage, music and cultural performances, as well as a local craft marketplace offering handmade products by local artisans. Craft workshops are organised to encourage knowledge transfer and hands-on learning among participants and visitors.
To enhance visitor experience and support the local economy, a mini food festival showcasing traditional and contemporary Sarawak cuisine will also be held throughout the programme duration.
