Sarah Spencer's Transatlantic Band is a highly regarded traditional jazz ensemble led by reed player and vocalist Sarah Spencer. Known for her motto, "play it Hot and Dirty," she formed the band in 1997 while living in the United States and has since built a strong touring presence across the US, the UK, and Europe. The band plays authentic New Orleans jazz spanning the 1920s dance hall eras, the New Orleans Revival, and classic rhythm and blues.
The Transatlantic Band features a seasoned line-up of professional jazz musicians who rotate into the collective depending on the tour location (US or UK). The standard UK/European touring line-up often includes the following core players:
• Sarah Spencer – Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet, Vocals
• 'Magic' Mike Henry – Cornet, Trumpet
• Rob Pearce – Trombone
