We’re delighted to welcome multi-award-winning YA author Sarah Crossan to Waterstones Piccadilly for an evening of conversation to celebrate her latest book ‘Gone for Good’. This propulsive, razor-sharp verse thriller from the author of bestsellers including One ,The Weight of Water, Moonrise, Toffee and Apple and Rain, sees Connie despatched to a remote high-security establishment for 'troubled teens,' only to discover that the girl who previously occupied her bed went missing under truly mysterious circumstances.
Sarah Crossan grew up in Dublin and emigrated to the U.K. when she was six years old, later studying at The University of Warwick and The University of Cambridge. She worked as an English teacher for ten years, in both England and the United States, before becoming a full-time writer in 2012. Sarah’s books have won the CILIP Carnegie Medal, the CBI Book of the Year, the YA Book Prize, the CLiPPA Poetry Award, Books are my Bag and many other awards including the Dutch Dioraphte Literature Prize and the German Deutsche Jugend literaturpreis. In 2018 Sarah was unveiled as the fifth Laureate na nÓg, Ireland's laureate for children's literature.
Sarah writes for both adults and children and her novels have been translated into more than twenty-five languages. Her debut,The Weight of Water, has been adapted for the stage four times and her novel Toffee has been adapted twice.
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé isthe bestselling author of Ace of Spade, Where Sleeping Girls Lie and Four Eids and a Funeral. She has also written stories for Marvel's Spider-Verse and BBC's Doctor Who.
