Join us for a family and pet friendly run to help build a microchip scanning station in the Crossroads Park!!! The Human Animal Support Coalition (HASC) is working to install publicly accessible microchip scanning stations throughout the Temple-Belton area, giving community members an easy way to scan found pets and help reunite them with their families as quickly as possible. Each station costs about $500 to purchase and install and provides residents with access to a microchip scanner and instructions for identifying a found pet’s registered owner.
Net proceeds from the Santa's Little Yelpers 5K and any donations made throughout the event will support the installation of a microchip scanning station at Crossroads Park in Temple. This station will be part of HASC’s larger effort to expand access to this resource throughout the community, reduce the number of lost pets entering local shelters, and help even more beloved pets return home safely without ever needing to enter the shelter system.
Runners will receive a SWEET limited edition Bold Republic/HASC bandana, a swag bag from our vendors, and a free beer token for redemption after the race. Medals for top 3 in each category.
Fun Fact! The racetrack has been lengthened to a true 5K. The run timer will be Profit Race Timers. We can't wait to join forces with you to help improve life for pet owners here in West Temple!
