Burners Without Borders Alberta Chapter is pleased to organize a group of Extraordinary helpers to gift their time at the Calgary Drop in Centre's Donation Centre. With the holiday season upon us (soon), there is no better time to get involved! Join us to help out at the Drop in Centre's donation centre! This will be our group's 10th year doing a holiday event like this! Way to go everyone who has participated over the years! We need a lot of volunteers this year. We can use up to 15, so tell your friends!
Ever wonder where all those donations go after they're dropped off? Find out in this unique opportunity to help sort and organize donations at the Drop in Centre's Donation Centre. Organizations such as the DI Centre see a huge increase in donations around this time of the year and they need lots of extra help sorting everything. This volunteer opportunity supports various day-to-day activities at the Donation Centre, including but not limited to the storage, distribution, management and inventory of all donated items.
Please note - At this time personal protective equipment (PPE) related to COVID-19 is not required during a volunteer shift, but many still choose to wear masks and other safety tools for their own comfort. We ask that everyone please accept the choices of those around them, as the DI is fueled by kindness.
Volunteers who are 12 years old and up are permitted to volunteer when accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
Radical Expression is always encouraged, so dress up in your favorite Christmas costume (Santas, elves, etc,). Please keep in mind the DI Centre asks that your clothing be clean, casual and modest with covered knees, shoulders and midriffs. Closed toe shoes are required.
