It’s on like Donkey Kong, It’s time to get the tinsel on those Transporters and baubles on the Beetles for the most amazing free to enter event…. The Santa Run is back…A bit of background:
Way back in 2013 a friend’s daughter was being treated in the Piam Brown unit at University Hospital Southampton, and I had a hare brained idea to get a few of my VW mates together and take a few pressies up for the kids at Christmas. And the Santa Run was born. The Piam Brown unit is a children’s oncology unit caring for children from birth with cancer. While the unit remains the main focus, we have managed to get presents to kids across the whole hospital each year, and even other hospitals.
The event:
This year we will meet at Beaulieu Motor museum from 08:30 where you’ll be directed to the main arena. The cafe will open for breakfasts, coffees etc. The museum will open at 10:00
At 11:00 we will congregate by the entrance to the museum where prizes will be presented for the following categories, best dressed family/group, best decorated vehicle and the most highly contested…….best dressed dog!
At 11:30 we will leave Beaulieu via the private entrance and be escorted by our wonderful outriders to the hospital where we will deliver the presents for the kids.
What to do now:
We have limited numbers, so to register drop me a message with your vehicle type, and how many in your party (adults/kids) and I’ll see you on the day:)
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN EVENT FOR CLASSIC AND CUSTOM VOLKSWAGES ONLY (other Volkswagens can slip in too if they try extra hard with the decorations😜)
