Celebrate your furry (or feathered!) family members with a one-of-a-kind work of art! In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll create a colourful collaged portrait of your pet using a black-and-white photograph as your starting point. We’ll explore how the light and dark areas (values) in your photograph can help you build a recognizable portrait using coloured papers, acrylic paints, and paint markers. You’ll learn how to layer shapes, colours, and textures to capture your pet’s unique features and personality. Whether your pet is playful, mischievous, cuddly, or a little bit of everything, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make your portrait as individual as they are!
This two-hour workshop is a great way to try something new, and no previous art experience is necessary. We’ll guide you through the process step by step, with plenty of room to experiment and add your own creative touches.
Bring a clear black-and-white photograph of your pet to use as your reference (or take one while you’re here!). All art materials are provided, and you’ll head home with a colourful portrait of your favourite companion!
