Tannery Arts CenterThis is how a festival is born — one night at a time, with the people who actually dance here.We are preparing something 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 for our dancing community. Not a throwaway social. A first chapter. The kind of night you still talk about in the parking lot, on the ride home, and when someone asks “when is the next one?”The Santa Cruz SBK Warm-Up Socials are built from the ground up with you. We listen first: what you want on the floor, who you want teaching, which DJs move you, which songs you cannot sit out. Then we bring the best we can gather — salsa, bachata, and mambo instructors, an even floor, and a room that feels like family.Workshops warm you up. The social is why we stay.
Open floor. Mixed levels. An even salsa / bachata balance shaped by your feedback. Salty air, warm people, and room to dance. We are aiming for the first Santa Cruz Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba Festival next year. Every dollar from these Warm-Up nights goes straight into that larger experience — better rooms, stronger lineups, and a festival worthy of this coast.Come feel the community. Help us build it.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗝𝘀
We lined the night with selectors who know this community and this music.
𝗗𝗝 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼 — Seasoned Bay Area selector and vinyl collector who lives at the intersection of Bachata and Afro-Cuban music. He’s played clubs and events across the Bay, and he brings that same eclectic crate-digging taste home — warm grooves, deep cuts, and records that make the floor feel like family.
𝗗𝗝 𝗝𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿 — A long-standing Bachata and Afro-Cuban DJ who’s taken the sound around the world and back. Seasoned, traveled, and locked in on one job: keep dancers on the floor having the best time of the night with a unique blend that never lets the energy dip.
𝗗𝗝 𝗜𝘁𝘀𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 — SBTS organizer, dancer, and DJ who treats the night like a living mix. He fuses Bachata and Afro-Cuban music, then adds a fun twist so every age stays in it. High vibe, community-first, and built to keep the whole room moving together.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟
Evenly distributed salsa and bachata — based on what you told us. Not one style owning the night. Both, shared fairly.
