SANKOFA'S PEN LITERATURE CELEBRATION

TORONTO, ON — Sankofa’s Pen is proud to announce the Sankofa’s Pen Literature Celebration, a premier event dedicated to amplifying the voices of Black Canadian Authors and Illustrators in the Children’s and Young Adult (YA) literary spaces. Taking place on Saturday, January 24th, at the Worth Gallery, this celebration will feature a dynamic open mic book tasting, an expert panel discussion, and the presentation of the Sankofa’s Pen Peer Choice Awards. Worth Gallery will also be acting as a storefront to host titles from the book creators, available for sale to the public from January to March.

This event commemorates the twelfth anniversary of Sankofas Pen. Attendees will experience a rare opportunity to engage with a dedicated Authors and Illustrators’ panel—a unique format where creators share insights on representation, the business of publishing, and the personal journeys behind their stories.
