About this Event
Sankofa Sessions is an in-person spoken word open mic for the general public.
Sankofa Sessions: Spoken Word Open Mic
Presented by The Proverb Garden and hosted by Phoenix, this intimate evening brings poetry, spoken word, music, storytelling, art, and authentic community connection to Yeye's Jewelry + Art Collective.
Inspired by the Sankofa, retrieving wisdom from the past as we move forward. The gathering celebrates creative expression, reflection, and the power of being heard. Experienced performers, first-time artists, and those who simply want to enjoy an evening surrounded by creativity are welcome. This is an open mic, not a competition. Every voice has value. Every story has roots.
When: Saturday, November 7, 2026, 7:00 PM–10:00 PM
