About this Event
Join OmniAir Consortium® for the 19th OmniAir Plugfest, March 8–12, 2027, hosted by Qualcomm in San Diego, California.
This five-day event brings together connected vehicle manufacturers, technology developers, infrastructure operators, test laboratories, and transportation agencies for hands-on testing, interoperability evaluations, and demonstrations of emerging vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies.
The San Diego Plugfest will introduce new V2X tolling testing opportunities, expand misbehavior detection activities, and continue established LTE-V2X PC5 conformance and field testing. Participants will also explore emerging applications involving network V2X, sensors, connected intersections, and air-to-everything (A2X) communications.
Planned Testing and Demonstrations
- New V2X Tolling Testing: SAE J3217 tolling message conformance, including TAM, TUM, and TUMack; location-based tolling applications; distributed interoperability testing; and security and authentication.
- LTE-V2X PC5 Testing: Bench conformance testing covering physical layer, protocol, network services, security, and messaging, along with OBU field performance testing.
- Misbehavior Detection: Testing to evaluate V2X security and misbehavior detection capabilities.
- Network V2X Demonstrations: Exploring cellular network-based V2X communications (Uu) and emerging applications.
- Sensor and Intersection Applications: Exploring sensor integration, connected infrastructure, and intersection safety applications.
- Aftermarket V2X Devices: Testing PC5-based aftermarket V2X devices aligned with SAE J3315.
- A2X Demonstrations: Showcasing cellular-based aviation communications and electronic conspicuity applications.
