Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. Traditionally observed from sunset on October 31st to sunset on November 1st, it is seen as a liminal time when the veil between the physical world and the spirit world is believed to be at its thinnest.This makes Samhain a powerful time for:
Honouring ancestors and loved ones who have passed
Reflecting on cycles of life, death, and rebirth
Releasing what no longer serves you before entering the darker half of the year
Intention-setting for the new cycle ahead
It is both a celebration of completion and a gentle turning inward for rest, reflection, and spiritual connection.
The “Three Crafts of Samhain” form the core experiential practice of the workshop. Each craft is designed to align with a key spiritual theme of the season:
In this relaxed, guided workshop, you’ll create:
1 - Ancestral Shadow Box
Exploring imprint.
Capture memories, influences, and the stories that have shaped you. Holds what has been inherited or left behind, anchoring memory and lineage so it does not drift when the veil thins.
2 - Scrying Mirror
Awakening intuition. A tool for quiet reflection, insight, and connecting with your inner world. Acts as the eye of the set, revealing what lies beyond ordinary sight when boundaries grow weak, allowing glimpses through the thinning veil into hidden places and meanings.
3 - Witch’s Ladder
Setting intention.
Knot by knot, weave your focus, protection, or release for the season ahead. Working thread that connects the two, used to carry intention outward and bring insight back in, knotting experience into something tangible that can be held, returned to, and worked again.
The workshop will conclude with a bell-based cleansing and charging ritual, using sound to clear each crafted item of residual energy and activate its intended purpose.
Together, the Ancestral Shadow Box, Scrying Mirror, and Witches’ Ladder form a complete working set that moves through remembrance, perception, and influence.
The set is not just for ritual use in a single moment, but something you can take home and use when the sun goes down, when the veil is at its thinnest and the world feels closest to what lies beneath it, allowing the practitioner to continue the work in quiet, personal space.
No experience needed, this workshop is designed to be accessible, creative, and grounding whether you’re spiritually curious or already practicing.
