SAME NoVA Post October Lunch Program with Keith Autry of MWAA

Join the SAME NoVA Post for a luncheon program featuring Keith Autry, Vice President for Engineering and IAD Capital Programs for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), on the planned transformation of Washington Dulles International Airport.

MWAA’s Board of Directors recently approved a $15.5 billion addition to its capital construction budget to expand and accelerate modernization at Dulles International. The program is intended to support future passenger growth, modernize critical airport infrastructure, and improve the traveler experience.

Mr. Autry will discuss the project’s major airside phases and the delivery approach for this long-term capital program. The first phase, known as Package A, includes expansion of the Main Terminal; upgraded ticketing areas; new Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Customs facilities; a walkable connector between the Main Terminal and the existing A/B Concourse; and new international gates at the Main Terminal. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.

Additional planned packages include:

• Extension of the AeroTrain system to serve new facilities and support the eventual retirement of mobile lounges.
• A central tunnel connecting airport concourses for baggage handling and passenger transit.
• Extension of Concourse E, with the first phase currently under construction and expected to open this fall.
• A new domestic-flight concourse near the existing Air Traffic Control tower.
• A new regional-flight concourse on the site of the current C/D Concourse.

This program will provide an opportunity for AEC professionals, public-sector partners, and industry stakeholders to learn about the scope, phasing, and future infrastructure needs associated with one of the region’s most significant aviation capital programs.
