The arts have long been utilized to engage the public with work that calls out injustice, rallies against tyranny, holds governments accountable and gives voice to the silenced. Artists living and working in the city of Syracuse are no exception. “Salt City Responds” highlights examples of this output, from public murals to folk music performances and printed protest banners. The exhibition presents a selection of works that illustrate the historic and ongoing support and output that define our community as a hub of cultural democracy. The exhibition will be on view Sept. 25-Nov. 7. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
