This earth-friendly road race run in memory of our dear friend, Tim Curtis, features a spectacularly scenic course followed by an awesome barbecue on the banks of the Salmon River. It begins and ends in front of the historic Comstock Covered Bridge and heads out on pavement for just over 1 mile before turning onto the seasonal River Road that will take you through the Salmon River Forest over gravel for one and a half miles where you will enjoy gorgeous views of the Salmon River. The course then veers left onto the Airline Trail for just over one mile and then back to the covered bridge for a fast, mostly downhill finish. As such, the course includes a variety of terrain: some pavement, some dirt, some improved trail. Following the race, the Colchester Chapter of the Avalonia Land Conservancy puts out an amazing spread, including a number of locally grown and sourced foods and beverages. Your entry fee of $35 includes the scenic run, post-race BBQ, recycling of your old running shoes, and a FREE organic cotton t-shirt when you are among the first 100 to sign up.
