Sales Club: The Gift That Keeps Giving – Referrals and Testimonials In The Season of Goodwill
91% of business owners say they’d happily give a referral if asked. Yet only 11% of salespeople ever ask. So why are so many of us leaving our best source of new business to chance?
In this festive Sales Club, we explore the psychology of word-of-mouth: why people refer, why they don’t, and why a referral is a gift for the person giving it as much as for you. December is the perfect time to ask. Clients are winding down, reflecting on the year and in a generous mood. So why not ask them for something that gives your business a boost, and costs them absolutely nothing?
We’ll then put the learning into practice with our 3-Step Referral Engine: earn it, make it easy, reward it. You’ll learn the “giving ladder”, which means asking for a referral, a testimonial or a review so every client has an easy way to say yes. We’ll also show you how to shape a testimonial into a story that sells, rather than a polite “they were great.”

What is Sales Club?
Sales Club is a series of FREE Networking & Learning events, designed to provide sales and management education at a fundamental and usable level. Ideal for business owners, sales leaders, and decision-makers who want real-world insight rather than theory. It brings together experienced professionals to share what is actually working right now, openly and honestly.
This is not a sales pitch, a lecture, or a scripted presentation. It is about clarity, capability, and learning from people who are actively operating in today’s sales environment.
