Saint Lucy's Day: A Celebration of Light & Bringing of the Light Ceremony
Step into the radiant glow of Saint Lucy's Day, a beloved celebration of Light honored across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, and other parts of Europe.
Saint Lucy, a courageous young woman of the 3rd century, is remembered for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith. According to tradition, she brought food and comfort to those seeking refuge, illuminating her way with candles. Today, she is celebrated as a symbol of hope, spiritual vision, and the Light that shines even in the deepest darkness.
Her feast day, December 13, was historically associated with the Winter Solstice in earlier calendar traditions, carrying a timeless message of Light returning, hope awakening, and renewal beginning.
Bringing of the Light Ceremony
At the heart of our gathering is a beautiful Bringing of the Light Ceremony.
Beginning with one sacred flame, we will share the Light from candle to candle until our gathering is illuminated. Each flame represents the Divine Light within us, reminding us that we are all expressions of One Light.
As the Light passes from person to person, we experience a profound spiritual truth: Sharing our Light does not diminish it. Instead, the illumination grows.
Together, we will open ourselves to greater clarity, inspiration, peace, and spiritual vision, welcoming the blessings of Light into our hearts and carrying its radiance into the world.
We will also enjoy festive seasonal refreshments and the warmth of gathering in sacred community.
This celebration honors both ancient tradition and inner awakening, inviting us to recognize the Light within ourselves and one another.
The Light we seek is also the Light we carry.

Reverend Lucy Frances is a Spiritual Guide, Reiki Master Teacher, and community leader devoted to fostering peace, unity, and spiritual awakening.
Drawing upon decades of experience in counseling, spiritual teaching, and healing, Lucy creates welcoming sacred spaces for reflection, connection, and transformation. Her work weaves together ancient wisdom, spiritual insight, and compassionate guidance, inviting others to deepen their connection with the Divine Light within.
