Mark your calendars now for what will be a delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Whitby. Free parking! £10 advance; £15 at the door. Info and reservations at [email protected].Sailor Swift captivates an audience the moment he strolls on stage. Nimbly jumping from current events to events of long ago, this jaunty spirit (some say he is a ghost!) laces a running improv dialogue with songs old and new—expect the unexpected. Pete Morton created this alter ego a few years back and has been bringing the salty fellow to stages and festivals across the country. If you’ve been following Sailor Swift and his antics, you know that his presentations are always spontaneous, spot-on and never never never repetitious. For those who know neither Sailor Swift nor Pete Morton, be assured that Pete's concerts are funny, poignant, socially responsive, and always well-steeped in the tea of the folk tradition. Pete's resonant voice sounds almost theatrical at times, and his penchant for lyrics and melodies is right up there with the best of the UK's pantheon of songwriters. You may not have heard Pete Morton sing, but if you've been around the folk scene, you've certainly heard his songs.
