About this Event
Gabby Petito’s stepfather, James Schmidt and Colorado Deputy Attorney General Janet Drake are featured speakers taking the stage from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 17th, 2026 at the Montrose Pavilion.
The Gabby Petito story addresses tragic aspects of domestic violence and missing persons. Additional topics will include increasing trends, how law enforcement and judicial processes work to keep members of our communities safe and the great need for secure long-term housing to help break this cycle.
A silent art auction will run in the Pavilion Lobby before, during, and after the event, closing at 8:00 pm.
Proceeds from the art auction and the "Safety Can't Wait" ticket sales go towards the construction of San Juan Landing, a 10-unit long-term housing facility dedicated to domestic violence victims, their families, and pets.
