SAFE 18+ Southend

SAFE 18+ Southend is an in-person social group for autistic adults aged 18 and over who do not have a co-occurring learning disability.

Run by SAFE Essex, the group offers local young autistic adults a relaxed, mature way to socialise, without the sensory overload or social pressures of standard adult venues.

• A quieter setting: The group meets in the evening at a local café reserved entirely for members, providing a more predictable and controlled sensory environment.
  
• Choose how to spend your time: There is no forced structure or corporate icebreakers. Sit and chat, play card or board games, or unwind with a drink. It’s a space where you don’t have to mask your autism.
  
• Connect with peers: Meet people who understand the challenges of moving into adulthood, independent living, or employment while autistic.
  

Registration is required. After a trial session, attendees will be asked to become members of the charity to continue attending.
